Like every reader, I have piles of unread books. I currently have five by my bedside half-read as I've been distracted by life. I don't want to know how many I have in the study, and there's a forestful on the shelves. I've got books and bookshelves in every room of the house (bar the wet rooms) but in the kitchen, dining room, lounge, hall, all the bedrooms. I've got four groaning bookshelves in my office.
So my autumn challenge is to read a book a week for me, on top of the books I read/research for work, I read to my son, and the ones I edit.
I've just got a new prescription for my glasses, and some fancy new reading glasses for days when I'm wearing contacts, so eyes are at the ready.
Ready, set, turn the page!
